Shirin Neshat presents her solo exhibition 'Living in One Land, Dreaming in Another' at Pinakothek der Moderne, marking the museum’s first presentation in association with the Written Art Collection.
Neshat’s work merges vulnerability with strength, intimacy and political force. Centred on themes of identity, origin and power structures, her practice spans photography, video, and film—blending Persian visual traditions with Western art to create images that are both deeply rooted and universally resonant. Neshat uses writing, gestural expression, and formal variety to create a compact lyrical, rhythmic whole, with each work telling its own story of universal human experience.
