With 285 galleries from 40 countries, including 22 first-time participants, Art Basel 2024 showcased an impressive array of works. The focus was on strong secondary-market pieces from established artists, alongside many of the artists featured in the 2024 Venice Biennale. Despite a cautious market, Art Basel 2024 opened with high energy, marked by significant early sales.
Among the top 10 best booths, listed by Artsy, was Goodman Gallery, celebrating 40 years at Art Basel, with a presentation of works from both established and emerging artists. The presentation included works by Ghada Amer, El Anatsui, Kudzanai Chiurai, Nolan Oswald Dennis, Leonardo Drew, Claire Gavronsky, Pélagie Gbaguidi, David Goldblatt, Nicholas Hlobo, Alfredo Jaar, Remy Jungerman, William Kentridge, Kapwani Kiwanga, Atta Kwami, Laura Lima, Misheck Masamvu, Shirin Neshat, Ravelle Pillay, Faith Ringgold, Zineb Sedira, Rose Shakinovsky, Yinka Shonibare, Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum, Clive van den Berg and Carrie Mae Weems.
