A major retrospective devoted to William Kentridge opens at Lille Métropole Museum of Modern Art, France

Following a successful 2019 run at the Kunstmuseum in Basel, 'William Kentridge: A Poem That Is Not Our Own' will be on view at Lille Métropole Museum of Modern Art until 5 July. Kentridge’s first major retrospective in France and the first exhibition on this scale commissioned by a French museum, spans three decades of practice, including early work from the 1980s and 1990s. Designed in close collaboration with the artist and the Kunstmuseum in Basel, the exhibition will be take up half the Museum’s surface area and present previously unseen works never exhibited in Europe (from the artist’s very first drawings to his latest work, yet to be completed).
