Power of My Hands, currently on view at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, brings together works by contemporary women artists from across Africa and the African diaspora, including Gabrielle Goliath and Kapwani Kiwanga, two prominent artists represented by Goodman Gallery.
This landmark exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, and the female experience, with a particular focus on the body as a site of resistance and resilience. Gabrielle Goliath presents emotionally charged, sound-based installations that honour victims of gender-based violence, while Kapwani Kiwanga continues her research-driven practice examining power structures and postcolonial legacies through conceptual sculpture and installation. Through their distinct voices, both artists contribute to a powerful dialogue on empowerment and social justice in African contemporary art.
The exhibition runs from 19 May to 22 August 2021.
